For hundreds of years it has been used for medicinal purposes, it got its name because it was often used as a source of nutrients and food during the Irish Potato famine of the 1800s. There is no relative difference between Sea Moss farmed in different parts of the world, the biggest differentiator is the level of pollutants and healthy marine life in the water where it is grown.

Sea Moss grows and is farmed in the water; the healthier the local marine life and less pollutants in the water, the greater the value of nutrition in the Sea Moss. When Sea Moss is properly cleaned, dried and stored it can last for up to 6 months. However, if the Sea Moss is not properly dried for example and maintains moisture when packaged, that moisture will result in a much shorter lifespan for the Sea Moss. Once ISLE OF SPICE SEA MOSS arrives to our consumers the Sea Moss will have a lifespan of 4-6 months.
Sea Moss Gel will typically have a 4-6 week lifespan depending how it is packaged and stored. Our Sea Moss is sealed and refrigerated immediately after preparation to maintain its freshness and quality. This is the ideal method to ingest Sea Moss immediately.
Sea Moss pills are basically powdered Sea Moss, it has been dried and grinded into a powdered form. Typically it lasts for up to one year in this form but takes longer to enter the system as your body must break down the pill or the mixture that has the powder before receiving it into the system. enters your system from the mucus glands in the mouth.
Sea Moss may be ingested directly in its gel form or added to your favorite smoothie, tea, coffee favorite drink or foods like apple sauce and oatmeal; our Sea Moss is tasteless with a gelatin-like texture. Once added to your drink or food it will add a boost of nutrients towards reaching your daily health goals.

While some Sea Moss brands have been said to have a ‘fishy’ odor, at ISLE OF SPICE SEA MOSS our Sea Moss is odorless unless you purchase one of our infused flavors ie Cinnamon or Blueberry gel (coming soon). Our Sea Moss has no taste unless purchasing an infused gel, its texture feels similar to a gelatin making it easy to ingest on its own.
For adults 2-3 tablespoons of gel a day are recommended and for minors 5 and under, 1 tablespoon is the recommended daily limit.
Sea Moss helps to solve many issues and will have several desirable effects on the human body. If you are looking for an increase in energy you may start to notice changes in a few days depending on other factors such as diet, rest and exercise. For more severe conditions and ailments it may take a few weeks for the nutrients to begin to reverse the effects of the condition/ailment.
